WhatsApp is a cross-platform smartphone messaging application. The app lets users send text messages, photos, video and audio via their data connection, which is a cheaper alternative to using short messaging service (SMS) or multimedia messaging service (MMS). Managing and deleting your conversations within WhatsApp is fairly simple using the built-in editing controls.

Skill level:
Moderately Easy

  1. 1

Tap the "WhatsApp" icon on your iPhone's home screen.

  2. 2

Tap the "Chats" icon along the bottom toolbar of the WhatsApp application. The messages ("Chats") are organised by person.

  3. 3

Select the name of the person whose messages you want to delete.

  4. 4

Tap "Edit" at the top of the conversation. A small circle will appear to the left of each individual message.

  5. 5

Tap the circle for each message you wish to delete. A red check mark will appear. Tap the "Delete" button to delete all selected messages.
