The process of removing the dashboard from your Ford F-150 truck is not very complicated, but it can take well over an hour to perform. The F-150's dashboard is made up of many dash panels, each held in place by screws. The F-150's dashboard must be disassembled in a certain order; otherwise you may damage the dashboard. You will need a Phillips screwdriver and a slotted screwdriver to remove the dashboard of your F-150.

Skill level:
Moderately Challenging

  1. 1

Turn the F-150's engine off and open the bonnet. Remove the negative terminal from the battery with a socket wrench to disable the air bags.

  2. 2

Remove the four screws located on top of the driver's side of the dashboard and the two screws located directly above the steering wheel, using a Phillips screwdriver.

  3. 3

Remove the kick panels from both the driver's side and the passenger's side of the vehicle's interior. Uninstall the two screws securing each kick panel in place, and insert a slotted screwdriver into the edge of the kick panel to pry it off.

  4. 4

Remove the four security screws that hold the centre dashboard panel in place (there is one security screw at each corner of the centre dashboard).

  5. 5

Open the glove box and remove the two screws holding it to the dashboard, using a Phillips screwdriver. Remove the glove box. Remove the two screws that secure the dashboard trim on the passenger's side to the vehicle. Pry off the dashboard with the slotted screwdriver.

  6. 6

Insert the slotted screwdriver in-between the dashboard and the vehicle. Pry upwards to begin pulling it off the vehicle. Work the slotted screwdriver around the edge of the dashboard, popping out any clips you may come across. There are a total of 12 clips securing the dashboard to the F-150. Once the clips are popped out, the dashboard will come off the truck easily.
