For people who want a powerhouse of a cell phone without having to be bothered with lugging around a massive smartphone, the Sony Ericsson K750i is the perfect choice. However, a phone is only as good as the software within it, and as technology grows by leaps and bounds, it's important to keep the K750i's firmware up to date. Fortunately, Sony makes it incredibly easy to flash their phones and be current in no time.

Open an Internet browser and navigate to the Sony Ericsson support page for the K750i (see Resources). Select "Download here" and then click "Download now" to begin saving the installer file to the preferred location on your computer. The file is 35.3 MB in size and will take a few minutes to download with most high-speed connections.
Double-click the file to begin the installer. Once set-up has loaded, select your language and choose "OK" to continue. Read the license agreement and click "I Agree" before pressing "Install" to install the update service to your computer.
Open the "Update Service" shortcut on your desktop and wait while the software configures itself and connects to the Internet. Click the "License Agreement" link and, if you agree, press "Start." Select your phone from the list displayed and press "Next."
Turn off your phone and remove its battery. Wait for a minute and then replace the battery to your phone. Connect your USB cable to your computer and then, while pressing and holding down the "C" button on your phone, plug the other end of the USB cable into your Sony Ericsson K750i. Do not release the "C" button until the installer instructs you to or the software update will fail at this screen. Press "Next" and review the update information. If everything seems correct, press "Next" and then "Start" to begin.
Wait while your computer completes the update to your phone's internal software and flashes its BIOS to the latest version. During the process, which typically takes 10 to15 minutes, leave your phone alone and do not attempt to unplug it. When the installation has completed, the phone's firmware will be completely up to date.
Tips and warnings
- Updates to your Sony Ericsson K750i will always erase all of the personal data stored on the phone, so be sure to back up your data before beginning.
- The update process can potentially be a lengthy and battery-consuming process. Be sure your phone is fully charged before updating its firmware.
