How to Override Mobile Content Controls

Updated February 21, 2017

There are various security software products that give people the ability to set content controls on mobile devices. Products such as Net Nanny Mobile and Mobile Nanny enable parents to block websites and monitor Internet usage on a mobile device, plus they also help track a mobile's physical location using GPS technology. To successfully override mobile content controls and visit blocked sites, you can use a proxy, which is a website that lets you use its server to bypass the content restrictions hindering your browsing freedom on a mobile device.

Launch your mobile's Web browser and visit the Hide Mobile proxy to override the content controls affecting your browsing abilities. Hide Mobile is a free proxy service that enables you to access websites that are being blocked by content controls. Hide Mobile also hides your IP address so you remain anonymous and untraceable when surfing the Internet using your mobile device.

Type the URL of the website your content controls are blocking in the inconspicuous text box displayed on the bottom region of the Hide Mobile page. The text box has YouTube's URL already typed in.

Click on the "Browse" button displayed beneath the text bar. Thereafter, Hide Mobile will override the content controls and redirect you to the website that was previously being blocked by the content controls operating on your mobile phone.

Visit the Mobile Proxy website on your mobile phone to circumvent the content controls blocking your favourite websites. Mobile Proxy is a cost-free and user-friendly proxy that unblocks websites that are being restricted on your cell phone, plus it gives you anonymity by hiding your IP address.

Enter the Web address of the site you are unable to access due to the parental controls in the text field located on the upper-left region of the Mobile Proxy page. The text field has the "http://" prefix already entered in.

Click on the "Go" button next to the text field and Mobile Proxy will send you to the website you were previously unable to visit.

Go to the Stornge proxy site using your mobile's Web browser. Stornge is an easy-to-use proxy that gives you the ability to access blocked websites on your mobile device at no charge.

Type the URL of the blocked site in the text bar located on the upper-left side of the Stornge page, below where it says "URL."

Click on the "Go!" button displayed underneath the text bar, and Stornge will fetch the site you want to visit through its server.
