If you have ever wished for an easier way to transport your beer around your neighbourhood, a beer scooter may just be the thing for you. Scooters are small and easy to manage, and they provide quicker transportation than merely walking. By modifying a scooter to fit your imbibing needs, you will be able to quench the thirst of you and your neighbours while keeping your drinks cold.
- Skill level:
- Moderately Easy
Things you need
- Nylon fishing wire (for 20- to 13.6kg. test weight)
- Wire cutters
Clean your scooter. The best way to make a beer scooter is to modify a scooter you already have. Maybe you have one on its last legs or that isn't road-ready anymore -- these make the best beer scooters. You only want a beer scooter to go short distances around your home or block.
Clean your cooler. A beer scooter is nothing but a scooter if it doesn't have a cooler attached to it. You will want to make sure your cooler is clean and ready to hold ice and beer before you attach it to your scooter.
Attach the cooler to the scooter. Where you would normally store groceries or other items on the back of your scooter, attach the cooler. To do this, take strong wire -- such as nylon fishing wire used to catch 20- to 13.6kg. fish -- and run the wire through the hinges of the cooler and through the holster on the back of your scooter. This will ensure your cooler will not fall off your scooter. Make sure to cut off the ends of the wire with wire cutters, and bend them so they're blunt and won't snag you or your clothing.
Fill your cooler with ice and beer.
Tips and warnings
- Depending on your state's laws, driving any kind of motor vehicle while intoxicated is against the law. If you drink while you drive your beer scooter, you run the risk of being arrested for driving under the influence, or DUI. Be safe and drive your scooter only to your drinking destination. You can always pick up the scooter up in the morning if you drink too much to be able to drive safely -- and legally -- home.
