The Okidata C9600 is a high capacity, high-speed office printer that uses both a toner cartridge and an image drum to print. The image drum on the C9600 has a life of approximately 30,000 pages before you must replace it. The printer has an internal counter that keeps track of the number of pages printed and warns you when the image drum needs replacement. When you replace the image drum, you must also reset the image drum counter or the printer will continue warning you to replace the drum.

Skill level:

  1. 1

Switch off the power to the printer. The power switch is located on the left side beneath the paper exit tray. Wait approximately five seconds and then flip the power switch back on.

  2. 2

Press and hold the "Menu 1/Menu 2" button on the control panel and press the "Shut Down/Restart" button to restart the printer.

  3. 3

Press the "Menu1/Menu2" button three times in succession until "DRUM CNT RESET" appears on the control panel.

  4. 4

Press the "Enter" button to reset the image drum counter on the C9600 printer.
