The Volkswagen Passat is a series of family-sized sedans and estate cars introduced in 1973 and continuing to be manufactured today. As a family-sized vehicle, the Passat features front and rear row of seats. Sometimes, it's necessary to remove the rear seat from the car, whether it be for cleaning, extra room or to add a seat cover. The operation might seem simple enough, but a trick in the clips can cause frustration when not done correctly.

Pull up the retention clips at the front of the rear seat to release the front side. These are easy to find at each side.

Push the seat back.

Lift the seat up to release it from the rear clips. The seat is now out of the bracing and can be removed.
