The Epson R200 is an ink jet printer that allows you to print high-definition photos but it has been discontinued and replaced with Epson Artisan 50 Ink Jet printer. The Epson R200 printer uses six cartridges for more defined and vibrant printouts. If you are experiencing garbled and/or incomplete printouts, you need to clean the print head so that the cartridge nozzles can evenly and properly distribute the ink.

Turn on the Epson R200 and ensure that the red ink light is off. Right-click the printer icon in the notification tray and select "Head Cleaning." Load a paper into the paper tray.
Follow the instructions that will appear on your screen until the Epson R200 head cleaning process completes. Print head cleaning should take at least 45 seconds. The power light should flash once the cleaning begins.
Click "Print nozzle check pattern" and then "Print." The Epson R200 will then begin printing the nozzle check pattern for you to know if the print heads are already properly cleaned.
Examine the nozzle check print pattern. If there are gaps or missing lines, click "Clean" for the device to clean the print head again. Repeat the cleaning three to four times more if the results do not change. If there is still no improvement after this, turn off the printer and allow the ink to soften overnight. Clean the print head again and see if the results have changed. If this does not solve the problem, consider replacing the ink cartridge.
