Cardboard Box Assembly Instructions

Updated April 17, 2017

Cardboard boxes come in handy for various household projects. Whether you are storing items or moving them, these boxes are both practical and good for the environment. You can purchase these boxes from home improvement stores, but many grocery stores have used boxes available for free. You will usually receive the box flat and will have to assemble it before use.

Open the flat cardboard box until you have four sides and a hollow middle.

Set the cardboard tube onto the ground with one of the open sides facing up.

Locate the four flaps at the top of the box. Fold the flaps toward the centre of the box two at a time. Ensure you put two that are opposite sides in the middle first, then the others, forming an overlap at all corners. Stop when the flaps form a 90-degree angle.

Hold the flaps in place. Use your packing tape to tape along the centre where the flaps meet. Secure the edges. You might want to add additional tape if the box is slated to hold heavy items.

Flip the box over so the closed end is resting on the ground. Put your items into the box then repeat Steps 3 and 4 to close the box.
