How to Remove a CDFS Partition on a Cruzer

The SanDisk Cruzer uses the U3 platform, which allows you to take applications, along with data, to any USB-equipped Windows computer, and launch the application directly from the USB drive in as few as two clicks. The partition is called CDFS, and you can remove the CDFS partition using a tool called U3 removal tool provided by SanDisk.

    Download the "U3 Removal Tool" (see Resources) and save the file to your desktop.

    Connect your SanDisk Cruzer to your computer via the USB cable.

    Click the U3 Removal Tool on your desktop and follow the onscreen instructions to install it on your computer. Click "Format" when the installation is completed, and this will remove the CDFS partition.
