Alienware's gaming computers are known for both their high performance and their lighting effects. The Alienware FX lighting system is a software-controllable network of LED lighting effects integrated into the computer case. Users can program the lights to respond to case interaction in a number of different ways. The lighting can change colours, fade or blink based on the user's instructions. These lighting effects are powered by AA batteries, independent of the computer's main power supply.
