The primary use of a Sony Walkman NWZ-A815 is to listen to your music and carry your pictures around by way of a small handheld device. After using your device several times, you may run into a problem with getting the power to come on. Following a few steps and performing your own maintenance will have your device operative in little time and save you frustration, time, and money. Learn to properly recharge your battery by way of the supplied USB cord and perform a system reset to restart your device.

Turn your computer off.
Plug one end of the USB cord into the jack on the Walkman, located on the bottom edge of the device. Plug the other end of the USB cord into an open USB port on your computer. Turn your computer on.
Confirm that your Walkman and your charging environment are within the temperature range of 5 to 35 degrees Celsius. If you are out of this temperature bracket, your battery will not accept a charge. If your Walkman responds to the charge, you should see a battery indicator on the display.
Allow the Walkman to charge fully, if you haven't used the Walkman in a long time.
Recharging the Battery
Turn the device on its side. The "Reset" button is inside a tiny hole located on the right edge of the Walkman.
Insert a skinny object, such as the dull end of a needle or the tip of a pen, into the hole and hold it in for a couple of seconds. The system should then reset. Saved data and your settings may be erased by a system reset.
Try powering on your device by pushing the "Power" button, located on the face of your Walkman just underneath the display on the right.
