The LVW-5005 from LiteOn is a DVD player and recorder that allows you to dub and record video to DVD rewritable discs. It includes a TV tuner as well as a DV Link input so you can record up to six hours of programming onto a DVD or dub footage off of a digital camcorder directly to DVD. The LVW-5005 also features upgradeable firmware so you can update your system to give you compatibility with newer formats.

Open your CD-R writing software. Most computers come with Roxio or Nero CD writing programs to burn discs.

  4. 4

Click on "File" in the tool bar and select "New" or "New Project."

  5. 5

Select the option to create a data disc, CD-ROM or ISO. The naming may be different depending on which writing software you are using.

  6. 6

Drag and drop the firmware files into the data list.

  7. 7

Click on the "Burn" button to create your data disc and wait for the process to complete.

  8. 8

Insert the upgrade disc into the LVW-5005's disc tray. Once the disc is inserted, the upgrade process should automatically start and the device will be updated with the latest firmware.
