The LVW-5005 from LiteOn is a DVD player and recorder that allows you to dub and record video to DVD rewritable discs. It includes a TV tuner as well as a DV Link input so you can record up to six hours of programming onto a DVD or dub footage off of a digital camcorder directly to DVD. The LVW-5005 also features upgradeable firmware so you can update your system to give you compatibility with newer formats.

Things you need
- Data compression utility
- CD-RW drive
- CD-R writing software
- Blank CD-R
Download the latest firmware for the LVW-5005 (see link in Resources).
Unzip the firmware download with a data compression utility such as WinZIP or WinRAR.
Open your CD-R writing software. Most computers come with Roxio or Nero CD writing programs to burn discs.
Click on "File" in the tool bar and select "New" or "New Project."
Select the option to create a data disc, CD-ROM or ISO. The naming may be different depending on which writing software you are using.
Drag and drop the firmware files into the data list.
Click on the "Burn" button to create your data disc and wait for the process to complete.
Insert the upgrade disc into the LVW-5005's disc tray. Once the disc is inserted, the upgrade process should automatically start and the device will be updated with the latest firmware.
