Install MapSource software on your computer with the CD that came with your Garmin GPS or by downloading it (see Resources). Follow the prompts to complete the installation.
Insert the Garmin map data card onto a computer.
Launch the MapSource software. Click the "Transfer" tab within the "File" menu and select "Receive."
Edit the data you wish to receive within the selection dialogue box.
Select "Receive." The information will be transferred from the Garmin map data card and will be conveyed within the MapSource window. You have now copied a Garmin map data card.
