How to make money with webcam chat

Updated April 17, 2017

Making money without ever leaving your home is an enticing thought. Your computer may look like something that is used for research, paying the bills or surfing the Net, but it also is a way to make money. With some careful planning and forethought into what services to offer to the public, market your expertise to people who need it, and you can offer it to them through a webchat. If you find you want to earn some extra money, or maybe want to replace your full-time job, take the time to sit down and come up with a plan as to how to use the Internet to make money through a webchat.

Select a topic in which you have expertise. For example, if you are a teacher, you could offer tutoring services using a webcam chat.

Market your service by sending out flyers, through e-mail or by advertising on the radio or television. For example, a teacher would send flyers to schools during parent-teacher conferences advertising tutoring services through the webcam.

Decide on an hourly rate for your time that the customer pays for your service. For example, a teacher would research how much tutors in her area charge for tutoring and decide on a price to charge for webcam tutoring.

Choose a service to use for your webcam chat. See Reference section below.

Decide how the client will pay you. If you accept payments online, set up a bank account so the client is able to make an online payment. See Resources.
