If your child enjoys reading about super heroes and watching super heroes on television, they may enjoy collecting super hero figurines. Instead of purchasing pre-made, commercial figurines, children can experience more excitement by making their own super hero figurines out of craft materials, such as polymer clay. Polymer clay super hero figures can also be baked in a conventional oven and customised with modelling paints.

Bend fine wire into a human form using needle-nosed pliers.

  2. 2

Cut off any excess wire using wire cutters.

  3. 3

Cover the form with polymer clay.

  4. 4

Shape out the basic human features using your fingers. Make sure to remember that super heroes have larger muscles and broad shoulders.

  5. 5

Use a toothpick to add detailing onto the super hero figurine, such as clothing, facial features, hair texture and fingers.

  6. 6

Place the clay figure onto a Swiss roll pan.

  7. 7

Bake the figurine in a 200 degree Fahrenheit oven for 10 minutes. Let the figure cool completely.

  8. 8

Paint the specific detailing onto the super hero figurine using modelling paint. Allow the paint to dry completely before playing with or displaying the figurine.
