My Garmin Nuvi Has a Frozen Screen & It Won't Boot Up

At times, the Garmin Nuvi can freeze, making it impossible to do anything on the GPS. In these instances, you will need to reset your Nuvi to factory defaults. There are two methods for resetting the Nuvi depending on the model that you have. Some models have a reset button, while other require you to use an alternate method.

Push and hold the "Reset" button on the bottom of the Garmin Nuvi for eight seconds, then release the button. If your Nuvi does not have a reset button, move to Step 2, otherwise move to Step 3.

Slide the power key to the "On" position and hold it for eight seconds, then release the key.

Slide the power key to the "On" position to start the Nuvi.
