WIA stands for Windows Image Acquisition. It is a software developed by Microsoft that allows graphics software to communicate with imaging devices like scanners, digital cameras and web cameras. If you experience issues with your imaging devices, you may want to reinstall WIA to fix the issue. Note that you will need administrative rights to perform this task.
