"Dungeon Siege 2" is a role-playing game for the computer that allows you to play both single-player and multiplayer online games. The developers of the game released tools that allow the community to modify (mod) the game and create their own custom content. One type of content is a "skin" that allows you to change the way your characters look in the game. You can download skins online and install them into your game.

  1. 1

Double-click to open the skin folder once you have downloaded it. Most skin files will download in ZIP format but cannot be placed into the game unless you extract the DS2RES file from the compressed folder.

  2. 2

Right-click the DS2RES skin file from the decompressed folder and select "Copy" from the menu.

  3. 3

Open the "Dungeon Siege 2" Resources folder. This is the folder where the game will look for new mods and skins. It is located on your main hard drive at "Program Files\2K Games\Dungeon Siege2\Resources."

  4. 4

Right-click inside of the folder and choose "Paste" from the menu. This will place a copy of the DS2RES skin file inside the Resources folder.

  5. 5

Launch the "Dungeon Siege 2" game and start a new game. You will not be able to apply a skin to a character in an existing saved game.

  6. 6

Navigate to the character creation screen. You should now see your new skin as an option for your character.

Tips and warnings

  • If you are playing a multiplayer version of the game, the other person must also install the skin file in her Resources folder or she will not be able to see the skin modification on your character.
