Create inexpensive table decor for your next party using dollar store purchases, thrifty yard sale finds or recycled items from your own closets. Make shoe centrepieces to coordinate with the event you are hosting. The style of the shoes can be transformed into a gift centrepiece, a container for a floral arrangement or as flowers themselves. Shoe centrepieces are quick to create, leaving you with much needed time to plan your party.

Fill three clear baby bottles with jelly beans. Place a white 8-inch round doily on a pedestal cake plate. Stand the bottles in the centre of the plate.
Remove the laces from two pairs of white baby walking shoes. Measure the laces and cut a length of 1/4-inch-wide ribbon for each lace. Relace the shoes.
Insert a white 6-inch round doily in the top of each shoe. Allow half of the doily to lay over the back edge of the shoes.
Insert rattles, pacifiers and other colourful small baby supplies inside the shoe. Allow the baby items to extend out the top like a flower arrangement.
Tie the ribbon laces. Arrange the shoes on the cake plate around the baby bottles.
Baby Sower Centerpiece
Place a recycled tall drink cup inside each boot of a pair of adult cowboy boots.
Lay one red bandanna on your work surface. Fold the bandanna in half diagonally to form a triangle. Wrap the long folded edge around the leg of a boot and tie in a knot. Repeat with another bandanna on the other boot.
Pour water into the drink cups. Arrange a purchased prewrapped flower bunch in each boot. Place the boots together in the centre of the table or on each end of a buffet table.
Western Hoe-Down Centerpiece
Dip a kitchen sponge into a bright acrylic paint of your choice. Wipe the paint onto a wooden skewer. Wipe the paint off again with a paper towel. This will stain the skewer in the desired colour.
Stand one flip-flop on its toe, with the heel edge sticking up. Drill a pilot hole down into the heel edge, using a 1/32-inch drill bit.
Apply craft glue to the pointed end of the skewer. Insert the point into the drilled pilot hole to create flip-flop flowers. Repeat with the seven remaining flip-flops.
Fill a plastic beach pail with play sand. Insert the flip-flop flowers into the sand and arrange.
