The antitheft system in a Pontiac Grand Prix is designed to prevent the vehicle from being stolen or operated by an unauthorised user. When the system senses an unauthorised entry into the vehicle it will honk the horn at one-second intervals for 60 seconds. After the one-minute mark, the system will honk the horn at two-second intervals and flash the headlights for one additional minute. This system also disables the fuel pump to prevent the engine from being started. The keyless entry remote and the ignition key are required to reset the antitheft system.
