An ".xlr" file contains the information in a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet, but it doesn't do you any good if you aren't able to open it. If you familiarise yourself with this common file type, then you can make much better use of your computer. Fortunately, you can easily open XLR documents as long as you have the right program and know how to use it.

Open Microsoft Excel by moving your cursor over the icon of the application and double-clicking it.
Click the "File" tab on the top right corner of the Excel window.
Select "Open" within the "File" drop-down menu.
Scroll through the list of files in the "Open" window until you find the .xlr file you wish to open. Move your cursor over that file, and click on it to select it. Click the "Open" option near the bottom left corner of the "Open" window.
