Microsoft Windows Desktop Search or WDS is a feature available as a taskbar in Windows XP and Windows Server 2003. Nuance WDS does consume a lot of memory to run and can cause your other applications to run a lot slower when it is used. Disable Nuance WDS with just a few simple steps.

Click "Start" and then, click "Run."

Enter "Msconfig" and click "OK."

Click "Services."

Locate "PDFProFiltSrv." Remove the check within the box next to it to disable it.

Click "OK" to apply the settings. You have now disabled Nuance WDS.
