How to Remove my BIOS Password on My Compaq NX6125

To increase security, you may have set a password to lock your BIOS. Without the password, you will not have access to the BIOS configuration. However, you cannot simply remove the password --- you must open your Compaq NX6125 laptop and completely reset the total BIOS utility. Be warned that this will also reset all BIOS settings.

Instructions

    Unplug your Compaq NX6125 and remove the battery.

  2. 2

    Remove the screw holding down the RAM compartment by using a Phillips head screwdriver. The RAM compartment is located near your battery. Remove the compartment.

  3. 3

    Press the tiny button directly on or around the modules.

  4. 4

    Replace the compartment, screw it back in, replace the battery and turn on your computer.
