How to Set a Clan Crest

With more than 600,000 unique accounts, Lineage II is one of the most popular multiplayer games in the world. Clan crests are the visual symbol associated with your clan or guild in Lineage II; only clans that have achieved Level 3 or higher have the ability to create their own crest.

With a bit of creativity and some basic computer skills, designing your own clan crest is actually quite easy.

Skill level:
Moderately Easy

  1. 1

Open Microsoft Paint. To set the image size to the necessary dimensions, click "images" in the toolbar, then "attributes." Alternatively, you may hold down the "Control" key and press "E."

  2. 2

Set the dimensions of the image to 16 (width) by 12 (height). Ensure that your measurements are being calculated in pixels, not in centimetres or inches. You may draw and paint freely within the provided space.

  3. 3

Save the image as a 256 colour bitmap (.bmp being the file extension) within the "system" folder of your Lineage II game directory. The default directory can be found within the Program Files folder.

  4. 4

Run Lineage II. When the game is fully loaded and your character is logged in, hold down the "Alt" key along with the "N" key in order to open the Clan Window. Click the "Set Crest" button.

  5. 5

Browse to the image file. This should be quite easy since the default path that Lineage 2 will check for the image should be the "System" sub-folder in which you've already placed your preferred image. Click "OK."

Tips and warnings

  • If you don't care to draw or crop your own logo into the 16-by-12 field, you can download one of many shared crests from the Lineage II Warcry Network.
