Like many cellular companies, O2, a cellular-service provider in the United Kingdom, requires that customers to enter into a contract to obtain service. The contract specifies how long the customer is obligated to continue paying for the service. If for some reason you must cancel the contract, the O2 terms and conditions include a clause that specifies under which conditions the contract can be cancelled.
Cancel the contract because you changed your mind. Consumers have the right to cancel the agreement within 14 days from the date the SIM card is received by the consumer. (The SIM card is the card inside the handset). The contract may be cancelled by returning to an O2 retail store or calling customer service at: 0844 809 0202. To cancel you will need the SIM card, handset in the original packaging complete with all parts and proof of purchase. If you don't have the handset, O2 will charge you for it. Any usage charges incurred during this period will need to be paid before the contract is cancelled.
Cancel an O2 contract because of increasing service costs. As per the terms and conditions, customers who experience more than a 10 per cent increase in service charges may cancel the agreement. This doesn't mean your bill has increased more than 10 per cent because you have used it so much, but that it has increased because O2 has raised the price of the service. To cancel, you must notify O2 in writing (at Telefónica O2 UK Limited, 260 Bath Road, Slough, Berkshire SL1 4DX) of your desire to end your contract. Include your full name, mobile number and account number on the notice.
