Remove the PG-40 from the Canon PIXMA MP460 printer and place it onto a few sheets of newspaper.
Position the thumb drill onto the dimpled spot on the top surface of the cartridge just underneath the letter "B" on the label. Slowly turn the thumb drill to bore a hole through the plastic and into the cartridge.
Fill the 30cc plastic refilling syringe with 20ml of black printer ink.
Inject the ink slowly into the bored hole on the top of the cartridge. Leave the hole open and return the cartridge back into the MP460.
Remove the cartridge from the printer and place it on some sheets of newspaper.
Pull off the label on the top surface of the cartridge to reveal the refilling holes.
Position the thumb drill onto the three dimpled spots on the top surface of the cartridge and turn it clockwise to bore holes through the plastic.
Fill the three, 10cc syringes with 6ml of coloured ink. One syringe will hold the cyan ink, one will hold the magenta ink and the last will hold the yellow ink.
Position the cyan syringe into the opened refill hole in the bottom-left of the cartridge and slowly push the plunger to release the coloured ink. Repeat this same process with the magenta syringe in the top refill hole and yellow syringe in the bottom-right refill hole.
Leave the holes on the cartridge open and return the cartridge to PIXMA MP460 printer. Run two to three cleaning cycles before resuming normal printing.
