How to Access the Pump on a Bosch Dishwasher

Updated February 21, 2017

Accessing the water pump on the Bosch dishwasher will take you only a few minutes. The Bosch dishwasher is very similar in design to many other dishwashers with the water pump sitting in the bottom of the appliance behind the kick plate. By removing just a few interior parts, you will be able to gain access to the water pump in order for you to maintain or replace the part due to the pump wearing out.

Flip the breaker switch that leads to the Bosch dishwasher at the breaker box to the "off" position before attempting to access the water pump.

Remove the screws on the kick plate at the bottom of the dishwasher with a screwdriver and set the kick plate and screws out of the way.

Pull the dishwasher door open and take the lower dish rack out of the dishwasher.

Remove the spray arm assembly by using a socket wrench to undo the bolt at the top of the assembly and take the unit out of the dishwasher.

Locate the water pump and motor at the bottom of the dishwasher, giving you access to the pump.

Warning

Always be careful of any standing water in the dishwasher to avoid electrocution by the wiring. Keep all water dried up with a towel.
