If you've been to an arcade recently, you've probably seen a line of people behind the boxing arcade game. In this game, the goal is to punch the speed bag as hard as you can so that it swings backward and hits the sensor located on the top of the machine. But there is more to this game than brute strength -- where and how you hit the speed bag also changes your power level.

  1. 1

Stand with your dominant foot back and your dominant hand slightly beneath your chin. This puts you in the position to throw a right or left cross.

  2. 2

Throw a straight punch. Since the speed bag can only move in one direction, any power you have that does not directly push the speed bag back is wasted.

  3. 3

Aim to hit the bag directly in the middle. Any power that is not directed into the middle of the speed bag is wasted. Remember, the goal is to punch the speed bag straight into the sensor that is in the ceiling of the arcade game--any energy that doesn't accomplish this goal is useless.
