The simplest solution to opening a locked boot on the Mazda Miata is to use the ignition key. However, there are a couple of other methods you can use to unlock the car's boot. The Miata has been sold since the 1990 model year. It was redesigned in 1999 and again in 2006. According to the Guiness Book of World Records, it is the best selling roadster of all time.

Instructions

  1. 1

Locate the boot keyhole on the right side of the boot. Insert the key into the hole and turn it to the left. The Miata's boot will unlock. Lift the boot lid to open it.

  2. 2

Inspect the area slightly left of centre beneath the Miata's steering wheel, next to the bonnet release. Here you'll find the boot release button. The icon shows a car with an open boot. Push the button. The boot will pop open. In 1990 to 2005 Miata cars, the boot release button is located inside the centre console. Open the lid to find it.

  3. 3

Press and hold the "Trunk" button on your keyless entry remote for about two seconds. The Miata's boot will pop open.
