Attaching a water bottle holder to your bicycle is essential if you are thinking about cycling any considerable distance. The water bottle holder, sometimes described as a water bottle cage, fits on the long slanted frame connecting the front wheel to the vertical bar beneath your seat. This makes it easy to reach your water bottle when the bike is in motion. Almost all bikes come with holes already drilled in the slanted frame, making it easy to fit a water bottle holder.

  1. 1

Remove the two bolts from the frame of your bicycle using a 5mm Allen wrench. Some bikes have plastic plugs rather than bolts. Pull these out by hand.

  2. 2

Place the water bottle holder with its edge flush against the bar, making sure the holes in the frame and holder are aligned.

  3. 3

Grease the bolts with oil to prevent rusting and thread them back into the holes on the bicycle frame, attaching the water bottle holder in place.

  4. 4

Tighten the bolts using the Allen wrench. Your water bottle holder is now fitted to the bicycle frame.
