How to Refill a Canon Pixma MP190 Cartridge

The Canon Pixma MP190 uses the CL-41 colour ink cartridge and the PG-50 black ink cartridge. Using the refill kit with allow you to fill the empty ink cartridge two tp seven times, depending on the type of refill kit purchased. The kits have everything that you need to fill the cartridge. Empty ink cartridges must be filled as soon as they are empty to prevent the sponge inside from drying out.

Lay the cartridge down on its side on paper towelling. Empty the contents of the kit out on the paper towelling. The kit has one thumb drill, one syringe and one bottle of black ink.

Use the thumb drill to enlarge the fill hole just under the "B" on the label. Twist the drill back and forth until the hole is larger to accommodate the syringe needle.

Place the syringe needle in the black ink bottle. Draw out 20 millilitres of ink by pulling up on the plunger.

Place the needle in the fill hole. Press down slowly on the plunger to inject the ink. If the ink comes out the fill hole, stop and wipe up with paper towel. Some cartridges will not take the full amount of ink if the cartridge was not empty.

Place the Canon PG-50 cartridge in the printer. Print two to three test pages using any document to cycle the ink.

Remove the label from the ink cartridge. Lay the cartridge down on its side on paper towelling. Empty the contents of the kit out on the paper towelling. The kit has one thumb drill, three syringes and one bottle each of cyan, magenta and yellow ink.

Use the thumb drill to enlarge the fill hole for each colour. Twist the drill back and forth until the hole is larger to accommodate the syringe needle. The yellow vent hole is at the bottom right, the cyan is at the bottom left and the magenta is at the top centre.

Place the syringe needle in the first ink bottle. Draw out 6 millilitres of ink by pulling up on the plunger. Repeat this step for each colour, using one syringe for each colour.

Place the needle in the first fill hole. Press down on the plunger to inject the ink. If the ink comes out the fill hole, stop and wipe up with paper towel. Some cartridges will not take the full amount of ink if the cartridge was not empty. Repeat this step for each colour.

Place the Canon CL-41 cartridge in the printer. Print two to three test pages using any document to cycle the ink.
