A USB dongle is a device used on a computer, allowing it to gain access to a specific program. The dongle has coding that unlocks the program on the computer when the launch request is received. It is possible to connect the USB dongle to three different (nearby) computers, although all three programs are unable to run the software at once, as the dongle is only capable of sending out the signal for one computer at a time.

Instructions

  1. 1

Plug the USB dongle into the single end of the USB splitter. You must have a splitter that splits off into three USB connections (instead of the standard two).

  2. 2

Insert each end of the USB splitter cable into a USB port (one connection for each computer).

  3. 3

Power on each computer. All three systems will be able to detect and use the USB dongle.
