How to Remove the Stereo From a 2008 Toyota Avensis

The Toyota Avensis comes in two models: a large four-door sedan and a five-door wagon. The Toyota Avensis has its stereo at the centre console of the vehicle. When the stereo stops functioning properly, it will need to be removed to make repairs to it. The stereo will also need to be removed to replace or upgrade it. To properly remove the stereo, follow these steps.

Pull and unclip the plastic trim that surrounds the Toyota's gear knob, revealing two T20 bolts under the stereo.

Remove the bolts with a T20 Torx screwdriver, in a counterclockwise motion.

Pull and unclip the plastic trim that is found across the top of the stereo. Start at the left side air vent to the right side airvent, revealing two T20 bolts.

Remove the bolts with a T20 Torx screwdriver, in a counterclockwise motion.

Pull and remove the wiring and the aerial from behind the stereo, and pull the stereo away from the Toyota.
