If you are dissatisfied with your Land Rover Discover Series II headlights, convert them to High Intensity Discharge (HID) headlights. HID headlight bulbs are the standard aftermarket upgrade for factory-installed headlight bulbs on the Land Rover and other vehicles. HID headlight bulbs emit more lumens, a measure of brightness, and last longer than regular halogen headlight bulbs. HID headlight bulbs are available at auto stores or through online vendors. No wire cutting or splicing is required, and the entire process shouldn't take more than 30 minutes.

Instructions

  1. 1

Turn the headlight switch to Off and turn off your Land Rover Discover Series II. Prop open the bonnet with the bonnet support rod.

  2. 2

Disconnect the wiring harness from the rear of the headlight assembly.

  3. 3

Unscrew the headlight socket and put on latex gloves. Pull out the headlight bulb from inside the headlight assembly and set it aside for resale or use in another vehicle.

  4. 4

Connect the wiring harness you removed earlier to the ballast that comes in the HID conversion kit.

  5. 5

Connect the wiring harness that comes with the ballast to the back of the HID headlight and set the HID headlight in the headlight assembly in the same way the previous headlight was set.

  6. 6

Mount the ballast to the rear of the headlight assembly using the double-sided adhesive tape that comes with the HID conversion kit.
