How to Troubleshoot a NordicTrack C2000 Treadmill

The NordicTrack C2000 treadmill features 15 preset workouts that automatically adjust incline and speed for you, and a workout fan that has four settings, including one that automatically adjusts airflow to match the speed of the treadmill. Although this treadmill is easy to use, you may occasionally run into problems, which you can troubleshoot on your home at home without a call to the manufacturer. By following a few steps most issues can be solved quickly.

Instructions

    Power Will Not Turn On or Turns Off While in Use

  1. 1

    Unplug the treadmill and remove the console key.

  2. 2

    Wait five minutes and then plug the treadmill in and reinsert the console key.

  3. 3

    Check the circuit breaker located on the treadmill frame. If it is pushed out (tripped), press the breaker switch in to reset it.

    Chest Pulse Sensor Does Not Display Readings

    Adjust the chest pulse sensor a bit higher or lower on your chest and make sure you're walking near the belt's centre within an arm's length of the console.

    Move the treadmill away from electrical sources such as televisions because they may be causing interference.

  3. 3

    Replace the battery in the chest pulse sensor if this doesn't fix the problem. Insert a coin into the slot on the back cover of the sensor unit and turn the cover counterclockwise to open it.

    Remove the old battery and insert a new CR 2032 battery. Replace the battery cover.

    Display Screen is Malfunctioning

    Remove the console key and unplug the treadmill.

    Tip the treadmill's uprights down and remove the two screws in the bottom of the belly pan with a Phillips screwdriver.

    Raise the uprights and remove the three screws to turn the hood off.

  4. 4

    Turn the pulley to align the magnet with the switch located on the left side of the pulley.

  5. 5

    Reattach the hood and replace all screws, then raise the uprights. Plug the treadmill in and replace the console key. You should now have the correct display readings.

    Press and hold the "stop" key for a few seconds to shut off the demo mode if the screen stays lit after removing the console key.

    Incline is Malfunctioning

    Press any incline button with the key in the console.

  2. 2

    Remove the key while the incline is changing.

  3. 3

    Wait a few seconds, then reinsert the key. The treadmill should recalibrate and rise to the maximum incline and then return to the minimum incline.

    Walking Belt Slows While in Use

  1. 1

    Remove the console key and unplug the power cord.

  2. 2

    Turn both rear roller bolts counterclockwise 1/4 turn with the hex key to loosen the belt.

    Lift the edges of the walking belt. They should rise 2 to 3 inches from the platform if the belt is properly tensioned.

    Plug the power cord in and reinsert the key and turn the treadmill back on. Repeat if the belt is still slowing.

    Walking Belt Slips While in Use

  1. 1

    Remove the console key and unplug the treadmill.

  2. 2

    Turn both rear roller bolts clockwise 1/4 turn to tighten the belt.

  3. 3

    Plug the power cord in and reinsert the key and turn the treadmill back on. Repeat if the belt still slips.

    Walking Belt is Off-Center

  1. 1

    Remove the console key and unplug the treadmill.

  2. 2

    Turn the left rear roller bolt clockwise 1/2 turn with the hex key if the belt has shifted to the left.

  3. 3

    Turn the left rear roller bolt counterclockwise if the belt has shifted to the right.

  4. 4

    Plug in the power cord and insert the key. Run the treadmill for a few minutes to ensure the belt is adjusted properly. Repeat if the belt is still off-centre.
