A Casio G-Shock digital wrist watch is a durable timepiece.

The Casio G-Shock is a durable line of men's wrist watches that combine accurate analogue and digital timekeeping with handy features such as alarms, a stopwatch and a countdown timer. Learning to program and use the Casio G-Shock takes just a few minutes.

Setting the Digital Time and Date

Though your G-Shock offers many features, the time and date functions will probably be the ones you will use most often. To set the digital time and date on your Casio G-Shock, begin by using the "C" button to access the Timekeeping mode. Hold down the "A" button until the seconds place begins flashing, indicating that you have entered the settings screen. Use the "B" and "D" buttons to increase and decrease the number values for the seconds place. Advance the flashing from place to place using the "C" button. Repeat the procedure to set the day, month and year on your watch.

Setting the Analog Time

Your Casio G-Shock features both an analogue and digital clock. The setting procedure for the analogue time is different from the procedure for setting the digital time. To set the analogue time on your Casio G-Shock, use the "C" button to access Timekeeping mode, then press the "C" button five times to access the Hand Setting mode. Hold down the "A" button until the digital time begins to flash, indicating that you have entered the analogue setting screen. Use the "D" button to advance the analogue hands to the correct time. When you are finished setting the analogue time, press the "A" button to exit the setting screen. Return to Timekeeping mode by pressing the "C" button.

Using the Countdown Timer

The Casio G-Shock is equipped with a countdown timer that allows you to count down to important events. To set the countdown timer on your Casio G-Shock, begin by using the "C" button to access Countdown Timer mode. Hold down the "A" button until countdown screen time begins to flash, indicating the setting screen. Use the "B" and "D" buttons to increase and decrease the number values to the desired time. When you're done, press the "A" button to exit the settings screen. To use the countdown timer, use the "D" button to start, pause, restart and stop timing.

Using the Stopwatch

The stopwatch feature of the Casio G-Shock wrist watch is capable of measuring elapsed time, split time and two finishes. To measure elapsed time with your Casio G-Shock, use the "D" button to start, pause, restart and stop timing, and the "A" button to clear the stopwatch. To measure split time, use the "D" button to start and stop the timing, and the "A" button to start the split, release the split and clear the stopwatch. To measure two finishes with your G-Shock, start the timing with the "D" button, press the "A" button for the first finish, the "D" button for the second finish, the "A" button to display the time of the second finish, and the "A" button to clear the stopwatch.

Setting an Alarm

The Casio G-Shock features four one-time alarms, as well as a snooze alarm. To set a one-time alarm on your G-Shock, use the "C" button to access the Alarm mode. While in Alarm mode, use the "D" button to scroll through the alarm screens. To select an alarm screen, hold down the "A" button until the digits begin to flash. Use the "D" and "B" buttons to increase and decrease the number values to the appropriate time. Press the "C" button to advance the flashing and repeat the process to set the hour for your alarm. When you're finished setting your alarm, press the "A" button to exit the settings screen. You can silence the alarm when it sounds by pressing any button on the watch.
