Certain models of the HP LaserJet P2015 printer have Ethernet ports that enable them to be connected to networks. When a printer is networked, it becomes possible to send print jobs to one printer from many different computers, costing far less than purchasing one printer for each computer. When you connect the printer to your network, it obtains a unique address from the server or router, called an "IP address." You might need the IP address of the printer to add it to the computers on the network or to configure port forwarding in a router. The HP LaserJet P2015 displays its IP address when you print a configuration page.
Make sure that the LaserJet P2015 is turned on and not currently printing. Confirm that the "Ready" light on the front of the printer is lit, and that the paper tray contains at least one sheet of blank paper.
Push and hold the "Go" button on the front of the LaserJet P2015. After several seconds, the LaserJet P2015 begins printing a configuration page.
Examine the "Network Configuration" section of the configuration page. The IP address is a group of four numbers separated by periods, such as "192.168.0.1."
