Windows Script Host is an engine that allows scripts written in certain languages such as Visual Basic to run on a Windows-based computer. Since the Windows 98 era, all Windows-based computers have had the Windows Script Host installed by default, and all computers running Windows Vista and Windows 7 have Windows Script Host 5.8, the latest version as of 2010, installed. However, If you are running a computer with Windows XP or a previous version of Windows, you may need to update Windows Script Host on your computer if you want the latest version available for your operating system.
