The Sig Mosquito is a pistol that fires a .22 long rifle cartridge. The front sight on this pistol is secure to a plastic frame that goes around the front of the barrel. One screw secures the frame to the gun. You will need to buy the replacement front sight from a SIG Sauer dealer and the sight must be year specific because the length of the barrel changes from year to year.

  1. 1

Press the release button for the magazine on the right side of the handle. Pull the magazine from the gun. Pull the slide back until the bullet in the chamber ejects.

  2. 2

Remove the screw from the bottom of the sight frame and pull the sight frame off the barrel. Store the sight in a place that you won't lose it.

  3. 3

Place the new sight frame onto the barrel. Push the sight frame back until the mounting holes line up. Insert the screw and tighten it until the screw is snug.
