How to Reset the Lexus LS 430 Oil Change Maintenance Light

Updated February 21, 2017

The Lexus LS 430 was produced until 2006. Each model year was equipped with a maintenance reminder system that illuminates an oil change light at regular service intervals. The on-board computer monitors driving conditions to determine when the next oil change is needed. The computer system cannot accurately keep track of when the next service is needed unless the oil change light is reset after maintenance has been performed.

Turn the ignition switch to "ON" without starting the engine.

Press the trip odometer button to change the display to the total mileage.

Turn the ignition switch to "OFF."

Press and hold the trip odometer button. Turn the ignition switch to "ON."

Release the trip odometer button when the oil change maintenance light resets.
