Converse shoes complement any outfit, especially when embellished with shimmering crystals. Place crystals on Converse trainers to dress up casual outfits and add character to the shoes. Dazzle friends and family by embellishing these trainers with rhinestones. Select sparkling rhinestones that complement the colour of your shoes or contrast them with each shoe's colour for an artistic look.

Instructions

  1. 1

Moisten a paper towel with water and 1.5 mm (1/4 tsp) dish soap. Clean the rubber tip of the Converse shoe with the soapy paper towel to any remove dirt on the rubber surface. Wipe clean with a separate moist paper towel and allow the rubber tip to dry for five minutes.

  2. 2

Cut one 15-cm (6-inch) strip of painter's tape and cover the fabric portion of each Converse shoe above the rubber tip. Then cut and cover the front rubber bumper of each Converse trainer with a 25-cm (10-inch) strip of tape, below the rubber tip. The tape prevents the glue from dripping down the shoe.

  3. 3

Apply the glue across the top broad portion of each rubber tip from left to right. Carefully set the first craft rhinestones on the upper left corners of each rubber tip with the craft tweezers. Gently press down on the top of each craft rhinestone with the tweezers. Continue adding craft rhinestones across the top portion of each rubber tip until you reach the right upper corners.

  4. 4

Allow the first row of craft rhinestones to set on each shoe for ten minutes. Add the glue across the rubber tip of each Converse shoe, below the first row of craft rhinestones. Then place the craft rhinestones over the row of glue in the same way you placed the first row of rhinestones with the craft tweezers.

  5. 5

Leave the rhinestones to set for ten minutes on each shoe. Then continue to add glue and rhinestones on the rubber tip of each shoe until each tip is covered in rhinestones.

  6. 6

Set the shoe in a cool, dry place overnight to allow the glue to dry. Remove the shoelaces from each trainer the following day and replace the shoelaces with glitter or sheer ribbon shoelaces.
