How to Burn DVDs With a Panasonic VW-BN1 Burner

The Panasonic VW-BN1 is an external DVD burner that can connect to your home computer or directly to a digital video camera. Whether you want to back up your personal documents to DVD, or burn your home movies for later viewing, the VW-BN1 can work will all kinds of computers and types of burning software. Best of all, you don't even have to install it inside your computer. Just plug it into one of your computer's USB ports and you can use it just like an internal DVD burner.

    Plug the DVD burner's power cord into an electric outlet (or into a surge protector to be safe), and plug the other end of the power cord into the power port on the DVD burner.

    Plug one end of the USB cable into the DVD burner, and plug the other end into a USB port on your computer.

    Turn your computer on if it is not on already. Start Windows Media Center.

    Click on "Tasks," and then click on "burn cd/dvd." Select the files you wish to burn to the DVD.

    Select the VW-BN1 burner in the "Device" or "Destination" field.

    Click "Start" or "Burn," and wait for your burner to finish writing your compilation to disk.

Tips and warnings

  • Do not disconnect the burner's USB or power cable while the device is busy.
