Cheek biting can lead to bleeding and swollen cheeks, which are then easier to bite again making the problem worse. Constant cheek biting can also lead to ulcers in the cheek, and permanent damage to the cheek cells and the tongue. Open sores in your mouth can also cause stinging after eating certain foods. Often times constant cheek biting can be a nervous disorder or a problem within your teeth and jaw.

    Clean your already open wounds. Clean out the wounds in your mouth completely before beginning the process of stopping. If your mouth is currently bleeding from the biting, suck on an ice cube to stop or slow the bleeding. Completely rinse out your mouth with an antiseptic mouthwash. Do this at least once or twice a day.

    See a dentist or orthodontist about your jaw and teeth alignment. It may be possible that you jaw is misaligned causing your teeth to easily bother your cheeks. Once cheeks are slightly bothered, they swell and become easier to bite, sometimes causing a habit.

    Chew on gum continuously to entertain your mouth without doing damage to your cheeks. You may want to choose a sugarless gum if you are chewing it most of the day.

    Try a therapy or hypnotising method to stop biting your cheeks. You may be having this problem because your brain is telling you to bite it. If you can mentally tell yourself not to bite, you won't bite them. You may need help to train your brain to know it is not OK to bite your cheeks.
