How to Use Scrunchie Hair Accessories

Scrunchies are basically rubber bands covered with fabric material. The elastic hair accessory first made its appearance in women's hair in the 1980s. This popular hair accessory is convenient and can be used in most hair styles. Scrunchies can be used to secure the ends of braids, to create ponytails and even to secure buns.

Instructions

Things you need

  • Hair brush
  • Ponytail holder
  1. 1

Gather your hair into a ponytail using your fingers or a brush. Then take a scrunchie and wrap it around the base of your ponytail a few times to secure it.

  2. 2

Braid your hair down the back of your head or create two braids. Secure the ends of your braids by wrapping a scrunchie around the end of each braid a few times.

  3. 3

Put your hair into a ponytail using a ponytail holder. Once your ponytail is secure, take the ends of your hair and wrap it around your ponytail, creating a bun. Wrap the scrunchie around the base of your bun to secure it.

  4. 4

Create a loose low ponytail by gathering all your hair on either side of your head or to the back of your head near the nape area. Wrap a scrunchie around the ponytail no more than two times to loosely secure the hair style.
