The Canon Pixma MX310 is an all-in-one colour office printer that performs scanning, copying, printing and faxing. It offers 4800x1200 resolution scans, resulting in ultra-high-quality border-loss photo printing. Fully compatible with Windows 7, the printer was first released in 2007 with network connectivity and advanced paper handling features that put it into the low-budget business printing market. When your printer runs out of ink, you can reset its ink store by replacing the cartridge.

Instructions

  1. 1

Verify that the machine is turned on.

  2. 2

Lift the printer's cover with both hands from the front of the device.

  3. 3

Pull the two-pronged "Scanning Unit Support" piece at the far right of the machine downward. This will move the cartridge holder to the left.

  4. 4

Push down the existing cartridge, and then pull it to remove it from the printer.

  5. 5

Remove the orange tape covering your replacement ink cartridge. Do not touch the metallic printer head, as this can cause problems with print clarity.

  6. 6

Insert a black cartridge into the left cartridge slot, a colour one into the right.

  7. 7

Press the cartridge into the back until it clicks. It is now set into place.

  8. 8

Lift the printer cover up slightly to click the "Scanning Unit Support" piece back into place, then close the cover. You have now reset the ink in your printer.
