My Ford Focus Gas Cap Won't Stay On

The Ford Focus is a compact car introduced in 1999 and currently in production. The fuel tank is closed using a fuel filler cap and fuel filler door. Closure of the gas tank prevents fuel vapours from entering the environment.

Instructions

    Align the tabs on the cap with the notches on the filler pipe. The notches must match up or the filler cap will not properly screw on.

  2. 2

    Turn the cap clockwise ¼ of a turn until you hear a click.

  3. 3

    Close the fuel door.
