Instructions

  1. 1

Cut a ½ inch hole in the side of the funnel about 1½ inches in from the large open end.

  2. 2

Thread one of the 5-foot long pieces of the ½ inch thick cotton rope through this hole. Just before you get to the end of the rope, tie a large tight knot in it to keep the rope from going completely out of the hole. This will form one end of the strap for your powder horn to go over your shoulder.

  3. 3

Cover the large open end of the funnel completely with duct tape. This will close up the funnel on this end and make it capable of holding gunpowder.

  4. 4

Tie the other end of the rope around the narrow ¼ inch spout of the funnel. This now creates a strap for you to carry the powder horn over your shoulder.

  5. 5

Fill the funnel with black powder gunpowder. Then place the rubber ¼ inch cap over the ¼ inch spout of the funnel. The powder horn is now complete and can be used as needed when loading your black powder gun.

  1. 1

Remove the lid from the plastic 5-inch square box.

  2. 2

Cut a ½ inch hole on one side of the box at a point two inches down from the top of the plastic box.

  3. 3

Cut a ½ inch hole on the side of the box that is opposite from the side you cut the hole in step one. Cut this hole at a point two inches down from the top of the plastic box.

  4. 4

Thread one end of the remaining 5-foot long rope piece in from the outside of the box, through the hole on one side and into the box.

  5. 5

Tie a large knot inside the box on the end of the rope you just pushed into the box. This will form one side of the strap for your bullet box and keep the rope from coming out of the hole.

  6. 6

Thread the other end of the rope into the hole on the opposite side of the box.

  7. 7

Tie a large knot inside the box on the end of the rope you just pushed into the box. This forms the other side of the strap and attaches the strap securely to the bullet box.

  8. 8

Place your black powder gun's bullets into the bullet box and place the locking lid on the top of the box. The bullet box is now ready to use.
