Displaying the music you are listening to so your friends can see it is now possible, and setting it up only requires a few simple steps.

Open Yahoo! Messenger. Click on the "Actions" tab at the top of the Messenger window. Scroll down the list to "Choose Plug Ink," and click on it.
Select Yahoo! Music, and click "Start" to the right of the panel. A new information panel will open in the bottom of your Messenger panel.
Select the station you wish to listen to. Several choices will show in the panel, and a button is available for "All Stations" if you don't see a selection you like. Once you choose a station, songs will automatically be displayed in your status message as they play.
Option 1: Yahoo Plug In
Download a program such as Winamp, or FoxyTunes from Yahoo! Music.
Click the link on Yahoo! Music to install the FoxyTunes application. A new panel opens on the Messenger box at the bottom, and you can set up your music selections from there.
Download Winamp from the site link. Install the program. Open Winamp, and click "Preferences" or click "CTRL + P". Choose "Yahoo! Messenger Now Playing" from the menu. Configure the information you want displayed from the menu.
