Synthetic wigs can often appear overly shiny and unrealistic. Treating the wig to make it less shiny can be done quickly and simply if you know what tools to use. While expensive wig treatments are available for purchase, you can make a homemade treatment for a fraction of the cost in your own home.

Things you need

  • Bucket

  • Apple cider vinegar

  • Measuring cup

  • Brush

  • Baby powder

  • Powder puff

Pour a half gallon of water into a bucket. Add two cups of pure apple cider vinegar and mix well.

Submerge the synthetic wig in the mixture and allow it to soak for five minutes.

Rinse the wig with water and allow it to air dry. Brush out the wig.

Dab a powder puff with baby powder on it over any areas that still look too shiny.
